A Gather at Keroon
You go to the Keroon Beach.
Keroon Beach
Dark brown sand stretches to the left and right, curving to form a crescent
shape to fit the sheltered bay the beach borders. Felled logs are dragged onto
the beach as benches for those who choose not to sit on the ground. The logs
surround a fire pit with charred logs it in, evidence of a rescent fire. Keroon
Bay stretches out before you, disappearing off into the horizon. Rolling waves
lap against the beach, the only sound to be heard.
The snow finally stops falling but leaves Keroon covered in a winter wonderland
blanket of white. Temperatures stay just below freezing which keeps the snow
from melting away. Clouds begin to clear and the nights are sparkling clear
and days are sunny and bright.
It is autumn.
On the perch are Hellixe, Iago, Suyia, Elsie, Camouflage, Mudreed, and Drock.
Brown Ganth and blue Kyanth are here.
You see Refreshment Stand *And Optional Kissing Booth!*, Bubblie Eating Contest
Booth, Dunking Booth, Smith Booth, and NipNip here.
You notice Trysene, Miny, Yossarian, Hanabi, Jayden, Alain, M'hael, Xantha,
Kylaris, Caradoc, and Alorelei asleep here.
Kaysa is here.
Brellan has arrived.
Brellan
He is sturdy and dark, his head crowned with a short crop of thick straw hair
above his wide face, with dark green eyes and a broad nose, hanging pendulous
over his broad toothy grin, and wide jaw. Thick neck muscles rest on his wide
shoulders and strong muscles bulge his clothing on arm and chest. Strong hands
with thick fingers show calouses and broken nails. A thin waist just above solid
hips turn into long thick legs, and end in large feet.
Draped over his chest is a multi colored shirt, with an open colar down to his
belly. The reds, blues, yellows and orange strike out in bright constrast, with
short - cuffed sleaves and two bright shell buttons toward the bottom. Peeking
out from underneath is a pair of short, bright blue pantlest, hanging to just
above his knees, knobby bobbles above his strong calves. A pair of leather sandals
cover his feet, making good the comfort of his outfit.
He wears a triple corded braid of yellow, white and peridot in a loop having
a single center tassle with a red strand running through it, showing him to
be a the Keroon BeastHold Manager.
He is awake and looks alert.
Brellan is 23 Turns, 8 months, and 4 days old.
Brellan smiles "There are refreshments in the refreshment booth, and I am taking a break from being dunked in the dunking tank. Feel free to look about. The smith tent is also open, I believe."
Leywen walks along the beach, her sandals in her hand, as she's approached by a stranger. "Refreshments you say?" she ask, coming closer to the man, giving him a smile, and a nod. "That'd be nice..." After a long journey, and one which hadn't ended yet, refreshments, and a gather, was a pleasant interruption.
Brellan nods "Yes, right in there." he points to the Refreshment stand "I was actually heading in there myself, pretty thirsty work sitting out over that tank all day."
Brellan leaves the sand and sun for the protection of the booth.
You escape the sun and sand by entering the booth.
Refreshment Stand *And Optional Kissing Booth!*
The inside of the booth is bigger than expected. Along one end, there's countless
shelves filled to the edges with different types and sizes of bottles; wines,
brandies, whiskeys, liqueurs, ciders, juices and the like. These shelves are
well guarded by the bar that stands infront of them, so don't think you can
slip by the hostesses or 'tender so easily. Meanwhile, the other side of the
booth boasts one low shelf and multiple stools, which doubles as a thin-width
table, for those who'd rather sit in here and drink their refreshments rather
than take them to go. Two windows grace either end, and glowbaskets have been
hung in each corner for extra lighting. Overall, it's not a shabby place to
sit and relax and maybe have a drink or two.
Oh! And don't forget to politely ask your darling hostess for a kiss. Just 1/32
of a mark, and you might find yourself with a smackeroonie on the cheek!
You notice Dartboard in the Refreshment Stand *And Optional Kissing Booth!*.
Asleep in the Refreshment Stand *And Optional Kissing Booth!* is B'var.
Gaederon, Esther, and Brellan are in the Refreshment Stand *And Optional Kissing
Booth!*.
Esther takes a sip, then watches as more enter. How should she go about with this.. Umm, another drink. " What do you mean, 'odd with the ladies?'"
Gaederon startles to see Brellan enter "Oh, nothing actually, just ... doesn't seem to take that much an interest." He fairly oogles the young lady as she has her water "Sure I can't get you a bubbly or something Esther?"
Leywen follows the stranger into the stand, pausing for a time just inside to give her eyes time to get used to the change of light, then comes in further, looking around at the people here.
Brellan raises an eyebrow at Gaederon's comment but doesn't reply. He motions to the serving table and the hostesses "Just ask and they will get what you want. They have juice, wines, ales and some interesting mixed drinks, along with a few simple food items available."
"Why, thank you..." Pausing, Leywen looks once more at the man, having not caught his name, but suddenly notices the knot on his shoulder. "... Kind sir," she continues, then moves to the serving table ordering a glass of wine.
Esther takes another drink. "No, I am fine, thank you." She sighs, how boring she is. This, she can't handle, but teaching someone about a runner or working, she can do with ease. Her life is confusing.
Brellan also orders a glass of wine, "Benden Red if you please?" he takes the proffered glass and sits, after putting a towel on the bench "Wouldn't do to get things wet, you know." He looks again at Gaederon and Esther, a puzzled look on his face for only a moment before he returns his glance to the young stranger "Oh, excuse me, I haven't introduced myself, Breallan, Beasthold manager for Keroon."
"Good to meet you, Brellan of Keroon," Leywen says, joning the manager at his table, sitting across from him. "I'm Leywen, of Igen." Taking a sip of the redwine, she closes her eyes for a moment. "Excellent, I must say..."
Gaederon looks at Esther "As you wish." he says, sipping his own wine. "You know, for some reason, this Tillek tastes better than the wine we get in Ista..." whistful.
Brellan nods "Well met Leywen. I am originally from Red Butte, but that is a long tale." he sips at his wine "Ah, fruity, but not to heady." His clothes drip a bit, but he doesn't mind, though the color doesn't appear as fast as he hoped when he put it on.
Esther nods quickly. She really doesn't know that much about wine. Finishing her water and putting a nice 1/32 mark down on the bar, she stands up, smiling slighty at Gaederon. "I am sorry, but I really need to be working, It's not right for me to be doing this when the floors need scrubed. Thank you." She turns, smiling at Brellan, and then leaves
Esther leaves the protection of the booth for the sand and sun of the beach. Gaederon watches as Esther moves out and then turns to Brellan "So, taking a break Brellan?" he asks.
Leywen sets her glass down on the tabletop, pulls one leg up on the bench and begins the process of putting on her sandals again. Tiestrings goes around the ankle, then tied in an intricate knot. Repeating the process with her other foot, she gives the Beasthold manager a smile, sipping the wine again.
Yossarian leaves the sand and sun for the protection of the booth.
Orr leaves the sand and sun for the protection of the booth.
Brellan has another sip of wine and nods "Yeah, I was getting pretty parched up there on the board. Oh, this is Leywen, of Igen... Journeyman Metalsmith Gaederon, from Ista Smith hall."
Gaederon turns and glances at Leywen "Ah, well met Leywen." he turns and notices Yossarian and Orr enter "Ah, the youngester and his da from earlier. Come to have a drink with us?"
"Journeyman," Leywen says, giving Gaederon a nod and a smile. Being the friendly one today, see? Glancing to the side, she notices more people come into the booth, and gives the two nods as well.
Yossarian marches into the booth with his son behind him, "Aye, that we are Brellan. What do we have here to drink?" he peers around the booth at the people and the refreshments, giving the place a through assesment.
Brellan smiles "Water, Juice, Wine, Ale and some rather interesting Concoctions the Hostesses worked up with distilled wine and a few other stronger drinks. There's also some little food stuffs there, snacks really, but help yourself, I think they left it out for us who have worked so hard today."
Leywen drapes one leg over the other, then leans her elbows on the table, holding the glass in front of her eyes, admirering the color of the wine still left in it. "The wine is quite good," she announces to the newcomers.
Gaederon smiles at Orr "So, any news about the bubblies? I will be here until the booth is done with, and then have to disassemble it and bring the control mechanism back to the main hall."
Orr obviously can't help himself to the wine, but he does go over to the ounch to our himself a glass. He drinks down a gulp. "Ah!" He wipes the sweat off his brow. "It certainly has been a long day." he says, remarking to Brellan. "AAtleast you were somewhere wet." he adds with a grin.
Orr turns to Gaederon, "Well, some help dissassembling it would be nice tomorrow. The drudges are busy baking away for the contest tomorrow. Gotta feed a hungry hold full of people you know."
Gaederon chuckles "Actually, I meant the dunking booth. I built it here, with the main mechanism from the main crafthall and some parts from the beasthold."
"This gather continues tomorrow?" Leywen tosses out, to no one in particular, looking from one to the other. She could certainly postpone her journey for a day when there was a gather, and nice people to drink with..
Brellan chuckles "Wet." he says "Yeah, still wet actually." He turns to Leywen "Yes, it continues on the morrow, and from what I hear, there will be a bubbly eating contest in the bubbly pie booth."
Yossarian nods to Leywen as he looks over to get some white wine from a passing drudge. "My son's the one that you want to talk to for that." he says with a nod toward Orr. "Just pay him 1/16th of a mark to get in." he sips the wine, and his lips pucker at the acrid taste. "That drudge was obviously carrying Tillek White."
Gaederon snorts "What's wrong with Tillek White? I think it's quite good, better here than back in Ista. For some reason."
"Bubbly eating contest.. Sounds intriguing." To watch at least. Leywen empties the redwine in her glass and rises smoothly to get a refill from the servers. Giving Yossarian a smile as she passes him, she winks, "I think I'll leave it to someone else, though."
Brellan chuckles and motions to the casks "Have some of the benden Yossarian, its quite good." he points out the older looking cask, with the metal rings at top and bottom.
Returning to the table, with a full glass of Benden red, Leywen seats herself slowly, the smile on her face still wide and friendly. "The Benden really is good," she tells Yossarian, making a show of sniffing it, and tasting it carefully. "Very good indeed."
Gaederon smirks "Its too fruity for me." He eyes Yossarian for a moment "Not that I don't agree that Tillek is a bit tart."
Yossarian empties his cup unto the ground and makes his way toward the barell containg the Benden Red. He pours it into the cup, swirls and sample, "MMM. Must a gree with you. This Benden is pretty good." He looks back around at the people. So Brellan, planning to work in the booth once again tomorrow?
Gaederon sighs "Too bad you had to waste the Tillek though." Oh, teasing banter is going to be the end of this headstrong smith. "Anyway, what brings you from Igen this time of year, Leywen?"
Brellan smiles as Yossarian dumps the wine, "Well, at least you didn't destroy your pallate Yossarian." He sips again at his wine and says "I think I will have some of that cracker and dip on the table." He reaches over for a cracker and scoops some out, shoveling it into his large maw, and making it disappear quite quickly.
Leywen tilts her head toward the smith, giving him a slight smile, "I'm really just travelling through. On my way to visit my sister at Nerat, and then I'll be off to Ista," she says, then sips more wine before snatching a cracker for herself. Shouldn't really drink on an empty stomach.
Gaederon reaches over for a cracker also, dipping it and shoveling it into his mouth, sipping wine to wash it down. "Right." he says and smiles "It must be a rather long walk."
Yossarian falls asleep.
Orr falls asleep.
Leywen chuckles at the thought of walking all that way, then shakes her head, "I've been sailing. Boats are wonderful for that," she says, her voice rippling with humour, her eyes twinkling in whatever light enters the booth.
Gaederon nods "Ah, you came from the docks then. Well, I had a ride adragonback to get here. Nice rider from Ista obliged me and I will have to repay her somehow." the gears spin.
Brellan chuckles "Well, that may be, but either way, it's a long trip." he sips at more wine and takes another cracker, dipping it and eating it whole.
"I suppose it is," Leywen says, answering Brellan first, then turns to Gaederon, "wouldn't mind having connections like that. Alas, I know no riders, so..." She shrugs, taking a sip of wine before continuing, "I'm forced to sail. Though that is quite wonderful too." Says the woman who was born and raised in a desert.
Gaederon nods "Always got sick at sea. Can't say why that is, but there you are." he shovels in more of the crackers and washes them down with the very tart Tillek. "Crackers taste a bit burned, any chance ..." he turns one over and notes ... yep, they are a bit burned. "Must have been a bad batch."
Brellan raises an eyebrow "They are supposed to be like that Gaederon, they are toasted crackers." he takes another and dips it "For dipping." and shoves it in, crunching and drinking a bit of his Benden "I happen to like sailing, though I don't have much call for it."
"I'm just happy the captain decided to stop here. Excellent idea that was," Leywen says, taking a cracker, though forgetting to dip it first. "How else would I have met you nice folks?" Beam, smile, a few crumbs left on her lower lip as the cracker is swallowed.
Gaederon nods "Well, double fortuitous for me then, as I was just brought up today to assist with the gather, making that dunking booth." he smiles and picks up another cracker without thinking, shoves it in and munches.
Gaederon goes home.
"Well, I think I'll go see some more of this wonderful place," Leywen says, draining the glass as she stands from the table, her legs a little wobbly underneath her. "I will see you later, Brellan, Beasthold manager.." And with that she's gone. Out to explore the hold.
Brellan goes home.
You leave the booth for the sand and sun of the beach.
Next Evening
Dsalth makes his swaggering way down the sand, skirting the crowd. Sorrel one brays a bugling greeting to Branwyth as he arrives close to the familiar green, settling down to allow passengers to drop over his shoulders.
Surupa pouts in her corner far off, eyes still roaming about before she braves the crowd once again. She rams herself back and forth, as long as she can get through the people, and finally ending up at a more sustaining spot where she may view all. A familiar face is spotted, and hands raise up madly as voice rises above the rest. "Filli! Over here!" Will that work? Or, you can just spot the one person not dressed for the gather. Dsalth is noted for as well, a waggle of her fingers high up in the air is given to the brown.
Sasha shakes her head, still mystified..." but didn't Hanabi eat more than me? Or Orr? I can't believe I did the best....Oh ! what do I win?"
Dsalth watches with interest as P'rru descends carefully
Dsalth watches with interest as Skylark descends carefully
Alorelei chases after her ferret, makes a wild grab for her, and falls flat on her face in the sand. She sits up, slowely. "Ouch.."
Trimaka stopped her chokes of fake coughs at the mention of Raneal's name. She defeneds herself quickly with a bit of tease in tone as another kick of sand is given towards Tai, " Neal has nothing to do with this. Fylaer, On the other hand does. " She complimented while her shoulders gave a light slump. On one hand, she wanted Raneal here..to Dance.
Arora comes back with the water for the trader, and just notices the slap given by Colin.. A blink, but she doesn't comment.. Just makes sure that she stays out of the way. "Here you go Hanabi," she says, though she's still eyeing Arthin and Col. What was that all about?
Leywen gets up from her seated position in the sand, moving toward the refreshment stand, though she's interrupted by a dragon landing, and bugling. Slowing, her eyes follow the movements of dragon, and the unloading of his passengers.
P'rru plants his feet on the ground, one hand sheilding his eyes from the sun as he looks over the crowd. "Skylark love, see anyone we know?" he mentions to his daughter. Dsalth rumbles happily back at Surupa, recognising the herder quicker than his lifemate would even notice. "Branwyth, you looking smashing, now where's that rider of yours?" brownrider addresses the green off to one side of course when his eyesight fails him.
Khory isn't sure what Sasha won, but he congratulates her once again. "Well, why don't you go and check out what your prize is? I'll just wander about to see what's for sale.." A good chance to browse the Smith goods...
Trying to hold back the yawn that's threatening to come out, Khory finally gives in and lets sleep take him where it may. 'Goodnight..' he mumbles. Sasha steps away for a moment to scrawl out a message to someone.
Filli blinks softly and raises her eyes to look at the crowd as she hears her name called. She spots who she thinks is Rupa and wonders over that way. As she gets closer she noticed it is indeed the fellow herder, "Hey Rupa." she says with a slight grin.
Skylark bunches up her skirt and deftly travels down from Dsalth's neckridges, cursing her skirt all the while under her breath. There are major disadvantages to being a woman. Truely. "P'rru, why didn't you bring that darling Amalia with us?" she wonders with a soft smile, surveying the crowd after straightening her shirt and skirts. "The Herder Surupa is here but I know not half as many as you, P'rru, dear." Especially while she's so busy being frustrated in learning knitting.
Taima doesn't want 'Laer here to dance, neccesarily. Snicker. Ignoring Trimaka's futile sand fight, she turns her attention to the Dragons, eyes taking in their gandeur. "Wouldn't that be awesome, Mak?" she drawls softly, not shifting her gaze. "Absolutely startling.."
Arthin eyes Colin stonefaced a moment, touching fingertips to his red left cheek.. "You grew up knowing Jeska.. all I have of Sharah is what father told me before..the incident. You're not the only one of the family with problems, Colin." And with that, he mentally deems the conversation ended, and turns away from him. Though, once he looks up at 'Rai, his face softens rather noticeable and he whispers to her, "Sorry..."
Kyera gracefully walks in, striding some before bringing in the fresh smells of herder-land with her in from the Keroon Road.
lazybones runs down the beach, Alorelei still in hot pursuit, and ducks behind the newly arrived dragon. Alorelei sits down, totally stumped on how she is going to get her back... "Oh, hello..." she mutters to the dragonrider, a little embarresed.
Kyera steps in, murmuring softly before stepping in to take a glance about. The setting of this gather, rather lively! The Herder moved on to peer about as though to question what she really wanted to do.
Surupa bobs her head over towards Filli, eyes still lingering over the brown before she completely turns towards fellow Herder. "How long have you been here? I still can't seem to find the wine," she heaves a sigh, placing hands upon her hips as she juts out her chin, amber hair rolling behind her. "'Nyways, I really didn't come here for the Gather itself, 'cause I avoid these gatherings since... Since that one time." Since she lost her dear Ocay, of course. She heaves a sigh, head bowed down and frown forming for a slight moment.
Leywen flashes a smile at the brownrider as she passes him on her way to order a glass of Benden red from the servers at the refreshment stand. Taking a sip, she glances around the crowd, her head slightly tilted.
Trimaka gave a final flip of sand from the ground with the top of her boots, before she sooned followed suit to meet her friends own trail of gaze. Highlighted brows,; Is possible going any higher had arched while eyes had shifted to squint and gaze, " Remarkable, It would be..Just to fly and get away. " She ducked her head once again, Finding shelter amongst her scattered bangs from the sun, " Almost noble, Isn't it, Tai? "
P'rru nods, "Aye, Skylark- and Amalia was much too busy, I'm to go and fetch her when she sends word she's got time to come to the gather" Purr shrugs, patting Dsalth's shoulder. "Hello there" he says to Alorelei and then brownrider pushes off through the throng intent on the refreshment stand himself "I hope that /is/ Benden, lass" he notes to Lewyen, perhaps only for the smile she flashed him.
Arora turns her attention away from the two men's conversation, deciding that now's a good time to hawk her wares again. "Refreshments are over here!" the hostess shouts, waving a hand from infront of the Refreshment Stand and Optional Kissing Booth. "We've got all types of liquids to quench your thirst!" she continues.. "And a few that will ignite then!"
Kirai shrinks back slightly out of harms way and frowns. Hmmm... "S'alright.. I guess I just came at the wrong time.." she answers th(to) the apology and stares at the ground now.
"Almost. Not as noble as us, though, dear Trima." Moment broken, Tai's had enough of the sappiness. "Goodness, if Fylaer doesn't show up soon I'm going to have to get angry. And nobody wants that, do they.." The question, more of a statement, is left hanging. Taima's really too tired to finish the sentence. "You know.. I think I might head home. I'm pretty tired.." Her eyes grow somewhat listless, another of her odd turns. Obviously, her current mood isn't suitable for crowds.
Filli follows the other herder's gaze towards the brown and sighs softly. "Oh got here late last night." she says with a slight shrug, "Can't find the wine?..You know I should get after you for that being Journeyman and all now." she gives her normal impish grin then it slowly slips away into a frown. "Yeah I know..this is the frist one I've been to since then too."
Clambering up Branwyth's misty green flank, Sasha settles as comfortably as possible between her sharply spiked, mistletoe hued neckridges.
Camellia looks around as a friendly smile plays about her lips "Hello." she says to all.
Branwyth goes home.
"Of course," Leywen says, her eyes bright as she looks at P'rru. "Best there is," she continues and takes in a whiff of the wine's smell, before taking a slow sip.
Dsalth stretches out in the sun, forepaws flexing in the sand, neckridges bristling back and forth. One pinstriped primrose wing expands, fans once or twice and is then folded back again. Shameless showoff!
Colin sighs and leans again on the bartop, picking up a pebble that has somehow been deposited there and playing with it between his fingers.. Shards but his temper got away with him there.. but to even bring up family in that way. He can't apologize though. That'd only be a reverse insult. So he just stays silent and takes out one of his little vials, popping it open, and taking a generous drink.
Trimaka took a silent step back from her friends backside in the sands, as she instead had lifted her gaze to scan over the crowd before ducking once again to reply to Tai with a ligth airy tone, " Not as Noble as us? What a laugh. " Her shoulders were rolled in light dissapointment as she gave a returning comment, " Leaving now, Tai? I assumed you would. Then I bid you farewell, My Friend. "
Skylark peeks around her brownrider of a father to the refreshments and wrinkles her nose at the wine. She frowns slightly and folds her fingers together as she again surveys the refreshements. "Might I just have a glass of water?" she asks with a hopeful smile. Can't come to a Gather without a smile. Nope.
Arthin forces a smile at Kirai and lifts her hands up into his, "No, no... its alright. There's never a time that I wouldn't want you nearby, you know that?" He releases one hand to caress her cheek and try to get her to look back up at him.
Surupa blinks, rather surprised, before rocking back on her heels. "Journeyman?" She gasps softly, visage turning rather pale. "Well, I never knew... And," Rupa has a well 'nough excuse, really she does. "And I know that a Gather won't be a Gather without any wine, I was just looking for some for you, of 'course! And for someone else over there, somewhere." And the young woman's rantings lead her just a bit further from her fellow Herder; perhaps she can blend in with the crowd now? Swirling around on her heel, she gives Filli a quick glance. "Anyways, last time we were here in Keroon, for that barn dance remember, you were also drinking, weren't you?"
Gaederon looks into the dunking booth and says "Ah, Brellan, you're back? Well, let's see if we can get you back into the tank, eh?" He turns about to the crowd and says "Come test your skill and see the beastholder dropped into the water. Only 1/16 mark will get you four chances to send him from yon board and down into the cold water of the tank."
P'rru comes to a stop in front of the refreshment stand "A benden red for me, love, and water for my terribly sensible daughter here" Purr chuckles at Skylark. "Someone has to fly us home I suppose!" Lewyen is regarded through hazel eyes "And what's your name lass, enjoying the gather I hope- tis a fine turnout" babble.
Arora nods to the woman, and produces a pitcher of water instead, and a few glasses. "Take as much as you want," she says. "Water's free around these parts." Grin. One last glance is cast towards Colin, and the hostess reaches over to pat him on the shoulder. "Would you like a glass of water too?" she asks... even though she plainly sees that he's drinking from his own vial.
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan snorts "Not likely... Been a while since anyone hit that target. I'm getting parched up here folks, any one of you have the arm for it?"
Kirai shrugs and sighs as sher(he) takes her hands. Well, thag(that) kind of ruined her cheerful mood... she slowlym raises her head and looks him in the eyes "I'm glad for that at least, I guess."
Jaryn katrottrottrots in. Booted feet a'tappin' just the same, the Vintner's fairly _HAPPY_.. Whoa. Talk about a reversal! Now.. If only he could find that danged herder appy..
Filli beams towards Rupa, "Aye Journeyman." she says with slight shake of her head, "Oh don't have a fit..Not like I'm really going to get after you anyway." she says laughing so hard she rocks softly on her heels. "Not to mention you are one of the many people who could get me in alot of trouble." she says with a impish grin. Yesh that's Filli for you.. She notices them open the dunking booth, "Hey..wanna give it a try?"
Catlin looks around and spots Jaryn. She makes her way over to him and whispers "Jaryn, can I talk to you a sec?"
Esther walks in slowly, letting her hair fly around like fire. in from the Keroon Road.
"I'm Leywen," she says holding her glass up to greet the brownrider. "And it's a pleasure to meet you, brownrider..." She pauses, waiting for him to provide a name, giving the woman with him a glance. Daughter?
Jaryn shifts, and his eyes - so grotesque-looking, from the two black-eyes he sports - land on Catlin. "Oh, 'Lin!" He pauses. "Sure. Why not."
Esther sighs, walking back onto the beach she was just before, that is, after she finished her jobs. Eying around the crowd she looks for faces.
Trimaka swivled her head lightly as a few paced steps brought her amongst the crowd from the sands. Shoulder bumping some of them, to get through, did she have to make way -- To try and get over to the Dunk Tank. Maybe She should give a shot at tossing, While Taima wasn't around to make comments and ruin her Self esteme.
Catlin looks at all the people and says "I'm sorry about what happened lat time. I....have finally come to terms with...well..you know."
Colin glances up at Arora and forces a smile, "Sure.. thanks.. For that matter, I could use another Fire." Leave it to him and Arth to take a perfectly good day and turn it dark... maybe some things do change, but that at least doesn't look likely to.
That sensible daughter of P'rru's smirks in an almost proud fashion and nudges her father in the arm. "Atleast I've enough sense to dress well for the occation," she points out with a refrence to her somewhat Gather material for a skirt. Skylark smiles and offers a hand towards Leywen. "I'm Skylark, daughter of P'rru here. He's so absent minded when it comes to introductions," she says with a chuckle, "No, he's actually quite the gentleman as is his gallant stead. Most everyone I run into these days can certainly identify him so.." And if that wasn't a proud beam if you ever saw one...
Jaryn peers at Catlin, thoughtfully. "Thank you," is lowly said.
Catlin grins "I still...you know. But I understand."
Surupa blinks slowly, yet again, and allows her lips to curve into a small smile. "Ah, I just I can..." Towards the 'getting Filli in trouble' part, that is. She rolls back both of her shoulders in a shrug, giving the area a quick sweep before she stands tall and dip her head in a nod. "The dunking booth? Sure, I s'pose?" And her eyes travel that way quickly, sinister look coming over her amber hue.
Arthin lifts up the hand of Kira's he still holds and plants a kiss on the back, "C'mon hon.. don't let a little family disupte get ya down.. in twenty turns we've never been able to do much else for long..."
Jaryn allows one of his roughened hands to rest on 'Lin's head. "Good girl," is teased, lightly, before he bounds over towards the refreshment stand...
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan chimes out "Hoo, what's this? A customer?" He beams out at Filli "Take a chance missy, only 1/16 of a mark to send me into this tank. Awful cold water..."
Arora also nods to the brownrider. "A Red for the rider,"she says, "And another Faranth's Fire for the trader.." A grin is given to both of these patron, and she offers up her name too. "Arora, Keroon Hostess." Just in case anyone was curious. "Deliver of delectable drinks, and, if you've the 1/32 mark, a smooch too!" In other words, the Kissing Booth is Open for business!!
Yes daughter. P'rru isnt one of those creepy old riders that like cracks onto girls half his age. "Skylark" he says with a rueful chuckle "Don't give us both an ego boost, my dear, especially that lughead..." the lughead is right now, creeping closer to the crowd, rump in the air, nose to the ground. Dsalth looks like he's about to pounce on the first thing that walks close enough to that snorting pair of nostrils..."Now Lewyen, what do you recommend we visit first here?"
Kirai offers a slight smile "That doesn't mean I have to like it when you argue and smack each other around out here." she adds "I'll try to be happy again.. but.. it won't feel the same..."
Astrea pads in, eyes fixed sullenly on her boots. Her short, dark curls fall over her eyes until she raises her face, looking for someone, or something, that seems mildy familiar. Several 'Riders and Reachiens are noticed and duly acknowledged as the Weyrfolk settles herself down in the sand, running the grains between her fingers idly.
Leywen chuckles at the woman's description of her father, taking a sip of wine before answering, "pleased to meet you too, Skylark," she says, nodding to P'rru, then waves to a few people she recognizes from yesterday. Eyes back at the brownrider, she smiles, "Well, I'd say the refreshment stand, but you're already here, so..." She gives a shrug of the shoulders, looking around, "I'm not from around here, so I really don't know, P'rru." Getting very familiar with the rider, isn't she?
Gaederon barks out "Give the Journeywoman room folks, let's see if she has as good an eye and arm as needed for dunking yon beastholder into the water. Come on folks, let's give him what he's asking for, eh?" He looks at Filli "You interested miss?" he seems to have overheard her...
Filli gives her best impish grin and a nod towards Rupa. She chuckles at Brellan, "Cold water eh? It would be a shame to dump you in." she says teasing as she gets ready to play.
Esther sighs, watching the people by the dunking tank. Why, is that Brellan again? She smiles to herself a bit, pushing the red curls behind her ears.
Arthin tilts his head and puts on a genuine grin, drawing 'Rai up close, "You're right.. it won't be the same. I'll see to that.." And wink is sent down at her, just in time for a playful poke-tickle at her side.
Filli carefully takes aim at the dunking board, then throws.
The ball flies toward the target.
Filli hits the edge of the target, pushing it backward, but failing to dump Brellan into the dunking barrel.
Atana wickedly grins. JarrieJarJar, you goin' down, son.. She tiptoes over to the Vinappy, looking like the devil 'im-er.. 'erself.
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan snorts "Hah, have to do better than that missy. Seen that gold rider from High Reaches toss one, hit it on the first throw..."
Catlin stands quietly watching the crowd, not much in the mood to party.
Filli pouts softly, "Should have thrown it harder" she says in a bah humbug type voice, "I would not be in such a hurry to hit the water if I was you." She tell Brellan in the dunking booth.
Kirai eeps as she's poked/. She laughs and cuddles up close "Will you darling? I hope so..."
P'rru blinks over his shoulder at the refreshment stand "Aye, I think we can safely say we've done that booth" and without much ado, rider pushes off, winding in between little groups of people. And there's no obvious direction in which he's going of course, wine glass firmly in hand and smile playing across his lips.
Gaederon smiles "Just aim and throw, you were almost on the mark... Go on now, three more tries miss... Say, you look familiar... "
Dsalth finds one very very interesting and he inhales deeply around Catlin. Ooh doesn't she smell divine? Brown dragon shivers slightly in anticipation, rusted tail flickering back and forth even faster as he regards the girl. Ooh.
Surupa eyes Brellan in the booth, her grin spreading as she cheers on her friend. "C'mon, Filli, you know you can hit it! Being Journeywoman and all now, why can't you?" She just her chin out in the victim's direction inside the booth. However, from the corner of this young woman's eyes, she attempts to find some wine waiting for her around. "I'll be right back," she informs fellow Herder and scoots away, only to arrive moments after with a glass and that burgandy drink she so much adores.
Trimaka weaved her way troughout the crowds, But failing to locate, did she venture over to the Refreshment stand. Eyes a'widen with glee as Maka peers about carefully with a sudden malicious way. Drinks! Why, She had some of thses the Yesterday, and no one was none the wiser, except for that on Neal. He knew, oddly enough.
Filli carefully takes aim at the dunking board, then throws
The ball flies toward the target.
Filli strikes the target full on, dropping Brellan into the dunking tank with a large splash.
Jaryn quietly snags a drink, and slips into the crowd. /He's/ minglin', baby! Yeah.. Erm.. One of those hematite orbs scans the crowd.. And his attitude drops perhaps a few scores of notches. Flamin' Faranth.. What the- he strides towards Catlin, keeping a wary eye on the infamous Dsalth.
Jarrom scowls as he walks in, but nevertheless makes his way to the dunking booth and hovers by it, waiting for Filli to end her turn before taking his shift. Eyes dart instinctively in the general direction of the ovine pastures, where he's left a young stablehand in charge of his flock. Sighing slightly, the boy leans against the tank and waits.
Atana whoops for Filli..
Skylark stares in a side-glance at 'Salth the Strange with curious and wary blue whirls. She raises her hand to alert P'rru but brushes it off. If Dsalth plants his-- oh forget it. Lark's attention is driven to the Dunking of the beastholder. She chuckles and treds over, skirt swishing along with her long stride. Filli's throw is watched carefully and Skky smirks. "Might I have a try afterwards?" she asks, surveying Brellan with a wry eye. Applaude is given as the Journeywoman dunks Brellan.
Catlin looks at Jaryn and smiles "Well....."
Esther finds a clear spot by the dunking booth as well, which is hard. Her small hands find a post to rest on as she smiles at the wet Brellan.
"Well," Leywen mumbles to herself as the rider abandons her, then downs the rest of her wine, getting it refilled before moving to the dunking booth, just in time to see Brellan end up in the water. Chuckling, she gives him a smile and a wave, hoping that at least he would recognize her.
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan cries out in surprise as he loses his seat and falls with a loud crash into the water. "Whoa.... splurt" He ducks under and comes back up sputtering "Hah, didn't know you could do that..." He shakes his head and scatters water everywhere before resetting the board and climbing back on board "Ho there Jarrom, care to join me up here?" he waves out at the ovine handler "Lots of room..."
Did someone say Flaming Faranths? Well, oddly enough, that's the drink of the evening being sold over at the refreshment booth! Come and get 'em, if you dare! Arora darts back into the booth to grab more mix for these spicy concoctions.
Taima pops up suddenly beside her friend, grinning like her old self. "Drinks again, dear Trimaka? Why, someone seems like she has a date tonight.." Tai ducks, just in case, and moves out of swipe-distance. Trimaka, as much as Taima, is prone to mood swings, yes? Amongst other swings. Tai orders a Faranth's Fire and downs it quickly, somehow managing to ignore the flame and concentrate on the alcohol. "Mm.. that's good.."
Jaryn snags 'Lin's hand. "I - er - don't think that's a very good spot for you." He eyeballs Dsalth, and nods his head towards the Kidnapper Brown.
Arthin chuckles lightly and gives Kirai a soft peck on the cheek, "Of course I will, m'love! And I'll even find a way of making the rest up to you, in good time..." Although, from the sound of his voice, he /knows/ how he will.
Filli watches as her second ball hits. "Is it cold in there?" she ask with and amused look, She notices the crowd forming, "Feel Free I've only got two tries left." she says before looking towards Gaederon, "I do?"
Dsalth ignores Jaryn. Coz frankly, there's just nothing interesting about him. But Catlin? Watery puppy dog orbs are turned on the female vintner, dragon purring his very sweetest. Hey he's gentle!
Gaederon smiles "Sure is, and I do know you... Filli, right? Herder craft? Broke your leg or something a while back and ended up in the infirmary for a long time. At least, that's what I remember." he stops "Good shot by the way. That lout is such a big mouth..." He chuckles .
Catlin looks at Dsalth and backs away.
Surupa bursts into a hysteric of giggle, having recently swallowed a mouthful of her wine, before shouting out to Brellan in the water. "Doubt you would ever look at 'nother Herder 'gain in the same way." She giggles, taking a sip from her drink and bobbing her head at Filli. "Great, shot! Now, make sure to dunk 'im just a few more times... That'll be a good idea, dontcha think?" The wine affects the Senior apprentice immediately, already flashing off her ivory teeth in a wide grin.
Atana sliiiiiides over to Jaryn and Catlin. "Who's your girlfriend, Jar?" The Cliffian gives Dsalth a blink - only a blink - and doesn't realise how.. the brown.. is. "Awww. Look how cute.." She wanders closer to the draggie-babe.
Trimaka hadn't actually aknowledged the comment on Tai, But instead she had reached for a drink. Now, Maka, being one for handling certain types of consumptions, Hadn't had one like this before. The cup was swivled a few times, and the occasional droplet spilt from the cup before She dared to apply it to her lips and take it down in one shot. -- But with a light stumble did a cough give way, and a wavered hand in daze.
Jarrom wrinkles his nose, nods reluctantly, and climbs up onto the board. A small "'Lo," is muttered to the boy's superior, and he sits quietly, slouching, and watching Filli with a wary eye.
Filli smiles softly to Gaederon, "Oh yeah that's me.." she gives a impish grin, "I'll have you know I now avoid the infirmary as much as possiable." She looks to see booth has been reseat, "Great Idea Rupa."
Filli carefully takes aim at the dunking board, then throws
The ball flies toward the target.
Filli hits the edge of the target, pushing it backward, but failing to dump Brellan into the dunking barrel.
Dsalth inches closer, closer closer to Catlin. Yknow, purring, curling his tail round his haunches that drop back down to the ground. Wedged head swings, dragon breathing in around Atana. Nice. And so the rumbling jumps an octave, and the brown stares at the other girl.
Jarrom enters Dunking Booth.
Atana reaches out a hand, and mildly strokes Salth-Baby's muzzle. So soft.. Aww. How cute, too.
Catlin looks at Dsalth again "Jaryn, a bit of help?" She ignoers Atana's painful comment.
Jaryn glowers. Ta-ta-ta.. Er, Ata'.. She's the one going to go down. Later. "You know," is said hurriedly to Catlin, "I hear they have some sort of drink that's s'posed to make any solid drinker turn green." He snags Catlin's hand again - "Let's go that way." He points.
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan smiles "Right up here Jarrom... that's a good lad." He looks out "Smile and wave at the folks now... and tell them what bat shots they are..."
Filli carefully takes aim at the dunking board, then throws
The ball flies toward the target.
Filli strikes the target full on, dropping Brellan and Jarrom into the dunking tank with a large splash.
Colin glances into his hip pouch, and from there into his marks purse, and just tsks and shakes his head. The vial in his hand is drank from once again, then set on the bartop as he scans the crowd once more. To no one in particular he mutters, "Why do I bother leaving my corridor.."
Dsalth snorts at Jaryn, drawing up slightly. Not fair. Stealing the ones that smell nice. Of course he appreciates Atana, rumbling louder and pushing his snout under her hands. But Jaryn? Ooh Dsalth doesn't take his eyes off the Theif. Mwah.
Anhelica walks quickly up to the booths, scanning each with a mild smile and then a wave. After finding the dunking booth filled with watchers, she makes her own way there, watching as a girl dunks two men at the same time. Her smile turns less stern as she watches everyone else throw.
Catlin walks with Jaryn in that direction as she looks down as he incloses her hand and she tightly shuts her eyes, too painful when.... "okay." is murmerd
Arora returns with more mix, and in a jiffy, she's put together another batch of Flaming Faranths. Leaning against the counter as the mix is placed aside, she taps on Colin's shoulder. "So, tell me.. Are you planning on sulking all night, or will you be hitting the dance floor at all this evening?"
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan falls once again into the tank, coughing and sputtering and looks out "Shards, that girls dangerous..." he turns to Jarrom and waits for him to get his composure back... Resetting the seat as he does.
_WHOOP_. Jaryn hollers.. "Two for one! Good _shot_!" The Thief is busiliy steering Catlin away from Evil-Brown, and wondering all the way. "Did I hear dance floor?" is perked. "Ooo, dancing.. Dancing dancing dancing.. When?"
Inside Dunking Booth, Jarrom spits out a mouthful of water, as he shakes off his hair and looks at Brellan. "Aye, such bad shots, aren't they?" He shakes his head slowly and climbs back up.
Taima narrows her eyes. Goodness, the gather got very boring, very fast. What they need is a hatching, or some daning. But this.. this is putting the adventurous Lleran half to sleep! Trimaka is given a pat as a small blue drops to the sand nearby. "Y'know, I think I'll scam a ride back if things don't pick up soon.. some dancing, at least. Perhaps I can perform and get brushed up in time for Gar?"
P'rru finally rounds towards the dunking booth where all the action is taking place. Oblivious to his dragon's actions /way/ over the other side of the crowd, dragonrider is happy enough to scoot in beside Skylark and Lewyen. "Tried to throw yet, ladies?" he asks them, one eyebrow riased.
Atana s-t-r-e-c-h-e-s upwards, and skritches lightly at 'Salth's eyeridges.
Jossie wanders down the path to the source of voices, and for the simple fact that there's a gather going on, but that's the obvious reasoning. Eyes search about randomly before the become fixed on the dunking tank where she takes a stance for observation in amusement.
Gaederon smiles and laughs "Certainly getting your money's worth young lady, care to join them in there when they are done, or will you be spoiling your gather clothes if you do?"
Kurt hops back up onto the stage after refreshing himself with a nice cool drink. "So! Who wants to dance?" he calls, waving his sticks in the air.
Esther watches them all throw, and then turns attention to Kurt.
Colin glances over his shoulder at Arora, then down at his drink, then back up, "Well.. actually, the night of sulking was looking rather appetizing.. haven't done that in a while." A bit of a half-grin crawls into place as he once again starts idly swirling that vial.
Surupa frowns as Filli's third shot, though changing her face as she gives a loud whoop once the two victims go splashing into the water. "Way to go, Filli! That'll teach 'em!" She cheers, bouncing up and down and allowing her precious wine to go spilling out everywhere. /Whine/! "Shards! There goes m' wine..." Sobs Rupa, looking into her empty glass. "I'm going to head on over and find s'more." She pats
Filli on the shoulder, just to make sure she has her attention. "You can find me 'gain later, I s'pose." And so the young woman steps to the side, and blends in with the crowd. Except for that bouncing figure moving away...
Trimaka leaned her back heavily against a wall of the Refreshment Bar, whalloping up a fit of coughs towards her friend and the drink. Drink. What a Drink, It was Indeed! A hand was lightly uplifted into a wave of dismissal, as she may as well follow suit. But..She can't pry herself from the bar. She was never one for that.
Anhelica laughs to herself. This is better than being stuck in the 'Reaches Infirmary. She eyes Gaederon a moment, and then goes on to watch the girl respond. Arms folded tightly over chest, long fingers move a bit at the waiting.
Filli smiles softly, "Oh I'll join 'em.. Give them herders a Journeyman to dunk." She tells Gaederon as she smile happily. She gives a little bow towards the two in the tank.. "Bad throws eh?"
Leywen shakes her head to the brownrider, "afraid I don't have the marks for it," she says, giving him a slight smile. Not if she wanted to keep drinking. Which she did. "I'll be moving on to Nerat when this Gather's over. To visit my sister." Getting talkative already, and she hadn't even had that much to drink yet.
The hostess just stares at the messenger. "That's just boring.." she states, grinning a little herself. At the harpers query, Arora raises her voice. "Aye! Bring on the noise!" Sliding around the bar, her grass skirt rustling, she pulls on Colin's arm. "Come on boyo. Let's hit the dance floor and you can show me how much you like the drinks..." Yeah, the drinks.. that's it.
Taima hops up onto the stage next to Kurt and leans to whisper in his ear, eyes darting conspiatorially as she flourishes her scarf. Hey, she's dressed.. why not perform for these lovely folks? She casts a sidelong glance at Trimaka, ready to embarrass her friend if need be, and unties her hair, letting the tiny braids fall around her face. Let's dance!
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan snorts "Not bad... but that Reaches gold rider dunked me the first time..."
Dsalth is not Evil. No no no no. Dragon takes offence bugling towards the sky, tail thumping into the sand. The Thief has stolen his Good Smell and now they ignore him! No no no! With a indignant snort he draws himself up higher, height giving him advantage to follow Jaryn and Catlin's every movement with half-lidded orbs.
Filli enters Dunking Booth.
Skylark stares at her father's mount and his stalking session before diverting her gaze to P'rru. Suddenly, the word Lark's been dying to hear all evening catches her ears. The High Reachian excuses herself quietly and manages out of the crowd around the dunking booth. Time to let loose and dance. An eligible dance partner is searched for. Dsalth should be helping but the big brute's too busy being egocentric so pbbt.
Stretching out arms and yawning loud, Khory then scratches his stubbled chin and asks, 'What time is it? Did I sleep in again?'
P'rru fumbles in his pockets, pulling out some 'didnt-they-get-put-through-the-wash' kinda marks. "Here" he says to Lewyen befor grinning up at the dunkees. "Got another thrower for you!" and Lewyen is propelled slightly forwards with a hand in the middle of her back.
Kurt stretches his arms above his head, arching his back. After he's all stretched out, he takes a step back and begins pounding the drums. A fast, tribalesque beat begins, with heavy kickbass. His foot moves to hit a drum on the floor, providing the lowest, heaviest beat while his hands move at a fast pace to start the faster song.
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan laughs "Alright folks, there's three of us up here, who has an arm for a throw or four? Come on, don't be shy, just embarass yourselves by tossing the ball at the net and missing the target completely four times. Come on, you know you can't hit it..." He smiles at the herder "And just think, if you do hit it, this lovely specimen gets all wet with us..."
Inside Dunking Booth, Filli enters the Dunking Booth. "Okay who thinks they are good enought to dunk us?" She says with a little wiggle as she settles in. Don't make her bring out the big guns. "Another one huh? Bring it on!"
Trimaka quites her fit of coughings as her gaze lowers from Taima on stage, to the ground. Double take. Taima! She quickly leaned forward from the bar as a hand out-reached in panic. Of ocurse, She wouldn't be heard over the browds, But it was worth her try, " Taima! Get off stage. Now! " Spluttered the struken girl. Her hands were brought up to rest over her eyes with another cough and chuckle. What was /Tai/ doing!
Khory hears the word dancing, and his gaze also goes out in search of a dance partner. However, Sasha got lost in the crowd, so it's up to him to find someone else to amuse with his poor moves and awkward steps.. Ahem.
Colin is all but forced along, but keeps up with Arora -- actually managing to stopper and put away his vial in the process -- as she heads him along, "Oh but, must I? I'm sure you'd rather keep your toes, and I'm guaranteed to flatten at least a few of them..." But apparently he's not too against the notion, or he wouldn't be following along, now would he?
Inside Dunking Booth, Jarrom grins widely, scooting a few inches away from Filli, in an attempt to not drip on her clothes, giving her the longest possible time to stay dry. The boy smiles to the journeywoman, muttering a small greeting, and he shakes out his short mane of hair again.
Anhelica sighs watching, arms finally at her side. Maybe she sould try, maybe not. It's not every day she gets out of the 'Reaches, might as well live a little. Arthin moves to the Keroon Road.
Dsalth is not happy. Except when he hears a bit of music. But still watching the vintner's, the dragon manages to settles back down, eyes whirring rapidly, tail still lashing. But he looks kinda relaxed right? And so not dangerous. Skylark's right.
Esther smiles at Fillie once she makes it up there. Three people in there? Just make it easier for them to fall.
Gaederon smiles "Ah, another customer? Ok, make room for the young lady." He smiles "Ah, Leywen wasn't it? Glad to see you stayed on over night. Going to give it a toss or four?"
Taima unfurls her scarf with a cackle in Trimaka's direction. The bright material billows in front of her, hues dancing in the air, and she snatches the end in one hand. "I'll get off the stage in due course, my dear Trimaka" is her reply as her bare feet beging to match Kurt's rhythm. Ahh, the music. The dance. Her body loosens and begins to flow, dancing like flame across the stage.
Arora grins wide. "Oh Colin, I'm sure you dance devinely," she states, giving him an exasperated look. "Let's get boogy'ing." And the hostess begin to shake; her grass skirt making the most interesting accompaniment to the drum beats, and her movements making a most interesting.. well.. sight.
"Hey! Careful," Leywen shouts as she fairly pushed toward the dunking booth, her wine spilling out over the rim of the glass, luckily avoiding splashing onto her skirts. Giving P'rru a long look, she shrugs and takes up a ball..
You carefully take aim at the dunking board, then throw.
The ball flies toward the target.
Leywen strikes the target full on, dropping Brellan, Jarrom, and Filli into the dunking tank with a large splash.
Decuth shuffles awkwardly in an attempt to march in from the Keroon Road.
Alfi slides from Decuth's neck and lands gently on the ground.
Coin sidles in, beaming at those gathered. The first thing he notices is the dragons, his golden eyes flickering over them appraisingly. The next, his ears pick up the sound of music. Ahh, dancing. And now, for a suitable dance partner..
Inside Dunking Booth, Filli gives a small greeting to Jarrom and looks at Brellan, "You really think I'm going to end up wet.. they can't hit..*splashsputtergulp*" She resurfaces, "Forget I said anything." She says with a laugh.
Esther laughs to herself, and then watches the people dance. She takes her hands off the post just long enough to turn, to see what else but more people begining to dance. If only the people she knew weren't wet.
Inside Dunking Booth, With a loud splash all three of those seated on the bench are sent into the water... Rising up and sputtering, Brellan coughs out water "What is this? First throw again?" He laughs and resets the board "Alright, get back on you two... she still has three more chances you know."
Trimaka peers through the crack atwixt her fingers at the laguid, and mysterious Taima. Absent chuckles had escaped her, but trying quite hard, did she try and hide them. SHe called out once again between a gasp and laugh, " Shards, Tai! Would you like me to start throwing marks at you? " She teased and relished.
"Ha!" Leywen, laughs, turning to the brownrider, giving him a nods, then turns back to the booth. "And that fellows," she says, holding up her glass, "was done with a glass in my other hand."
Catlin looks even sicker at the sound of dancing and she sudenly stops and looks helplessly at Jaryn "Jaryn please." she says again looking at the hands.
Inside Dunking Booth, Jarrom, after splashing rather gracelessly into the tank, resurfaces and starts wringing out his soaked sleeves, though he had the good sense to keep his mouth closed this time. Hair is shaken out, and the shepherd climbs back up.
Colin smirks at the thought of him doing much of anything divinely, but when you have an Arora shaking her...skirt before you, it's a futile notion to even consider walking away. So he shrugs off his scruples, gives the beat a moment, and takes his place mirror-chasing Arora's movements. Proximity. What a lovely thing.
P'rru raises his glass in a cheer "Hoorah!" as all the dunkees are...dunked. "Good throw, Lewyen, oh good throw!" rider has had a half-glass already and it's already affecting his head of course. With more laughing at the girl, Reaches rider gives a shake of his head "That was worth all the marks"
Khory is still looking for a dance partner, though he supposes that he may just stand and watch for now. Perhaps someone will come along later that he knows...
Taima laughs to herself as the unfortunates are tossed into the tank. Her feet move in a fast blur as she twirls madly over the stage, occasionally catching Kurt's eye for cues. Her sharp ears pick up on Trimaka's comment, yet, too busy to speak, she nods emphatically.. of course!
Kurt grins as he continues to pound the drums, moving his body to the rhythm. A few apprentices attempt to keep up with their guitars and other instruments. "One! Two! one two three four!" the other instruments come in for a sudden orchestral hit, giving a different sound to the song, which is mostly a mass of rhythmic drumming.
As a small patch of darker clouds begins to from the horizon out over the ocean, a soft pitter patter of drops begins to settle down over the tents and sand of the gather, nothing but a light sprinkle.
Inside Dunking Booth, Filli mummbles softly and climbs back up, "Beginners Luck, You won't do that agian." She says ringing her long black hair out and throwing it away from her face.
And how the hostess does shake! It's no wonder she came up with the steadily growing in popularity drink calling Flaming Faranth's Fires! Just look at that woman go! Only something as spicy as Arora could come up with that kind of concoction. And plus, it only mirrors her own demeanor. Careful not to get too close though - you might just get singed!
Gaederon smiles "Well, it looks like you have a talent for this... three more tosses miss."
Leywen smiles, clinking her glass against the riders, "thank you for giving me the chance," she says, looking back at those in the booth. "It was fun..." Her face darkens slightly as raindrops come from the sky. "That's all we need.. The rest of us getting wet," she mumbles.
Anhelica eyes Khory and then clicks her tounge. He does look familar, from the 'Reaches, would be none other reason. Putting one long hand out she feels droplets of rain, and then turns back to the Booth, but decides to do a full turn and leave it, becoming bored.
Trimaka removed her hands from over her eyes as a light pitter had touched her nose. But more intrigued was she by that of Tai did she chortle and double over in the middle with laughter. Her Tai. Her Faithfull modest -- Not Modest anymore, Friend! That Laer must've done something to her. But as doubled over, she still has the strength to go and reach for another drink. More Drinks!
Khory peers up at the spitter spatter of rain that begins to fall. Ah, on second thought.. maybe he will leave too.. Time to catch a flight back and.. Hey! What's this! With a muttered apology, the messenger excuses himself from bumping into Anhelica. "I'm terribly sorry," he tells the woman. "Please, let me buy you a drink to express my apologies.." It's only fair to be polite, right?
Taima jumps down from the stage, flipping her scarf coyly and looping it around the neck of a nearby, rather attractive.. male. (OOC: Feel free to /be/ that male). Pulling him slowly to the middle of the makeshift dance floor, she moves rhythmically around him, looking to Kurt for changes in the music. The bells of her costume ring along with the music, creating an muddled, exotic mess. But it's still fun, yes?
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan chuckles loudly "Poetic justice... Hah, everyone gets wet..." He looks over at Filli "You alright?" Obviously this is said with concern for her getting dunked, not the wetness.
Skylark hurries across the dance floor (or the likes) towards Dsalth and plants her hands on his muzzle as well as a gentle kiss. "There now, Dsalth," she says with a wink, "It's so much more attractive when a gentleman acts his age." Dsalth's chin is scritched idly as the woman lounges, surveying the crowd and then the clouds at which time Lark lights up with hope for a rainshower. Whether the Harpers pack up or not, Lark /will/ continue dancing.. not that she's started. "Dsalth, love, find me a partner, preferably male too," she adds with a soft laugh. Let's see who the gallant beast'll choose.
Arora blinks her slowly dampening eyelashes at Colin. "It's raining," she states plainly, though clearly, the wetness isn't bothering her much. In fact, it's a rather refreshing change, and makes the dancing even more fun!
Inside Dunking Booth, Filli smiles towards Brellan, "Oh I'm fine." she says as she gets an idea. She moves very carefully to wiggle her bottom at the crowd. "Dunk me if you can..Nah!"
Esther doesn't even relize who hit her, she just turns back, to see none other than the man she was wondering about. "A drink?" She says softly to him, and then nods, smile forming. "Why not?"
Coin watches Taima with a laugh, stopping short of cheering her on. That might look.. bad. Instead, the man stands somewhat off to the side, under the shadow of the great beasts known as.. Dragons. At least they provide some shelter from the merciless sun. His tanned face splits with a grin as he looks on, convinced that he'll watch for now.
Dsalth demures under Skylark's gentle touch, the old dragon quieting into a rumble. But he understands her request and turns to regard the ground, nostrils twitching. A dancer. Preferably with rhythm. Hmmm.
Gaederon turns back to the booth "I think the fun of the dunking won't be so great with everyone wet from the rain. You three want to grab some towels and come out? Might as well dry off a bit, get a drink and see about dancing..."
Inside Dunking Booth, Jarrom shivers slightly in his soaked tunic and trous, but manages a few breaths of a chuckle at Filli's manner of tempting the crowd.
Gaederon is eyed as he offers them dryness, though the soft pitters of rain aren't making that seem like a very big option. He sighs lightly, and optics wander to the dancers.
Dsalth finds one. That smells much better than that Jaryn did. Much much better. So whirling eyes turn on Gaederon and the dragon pushes Skylark with his tail in the smith's direction. Gaederon your it.
Catlin looks again at Dsalth and for the first time this evening laughs a bubbly laugh.
Kurt signals for another orchestral hit, and then everything goes silent for a whole two seconds before picking up with a drum solo. Kurt's hair flies around his shoulders, his bangs sticking to his forehead as he puts all his energy into the music. The harper is clearly fit, despite his thin frame. The beat continues, and he nods to Taima before starting to shift the beat to a sort of poppish double beat breakdown for a few measures.
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan shruggs "Come on folks, you've see it once, you've seen it twice, but can you match the arm of the lady from Igen? One toss and she sent us to the tank..."
Khory smiles and heads over with the woman towards the refreshment stand. Pleasant smile planted on his face, despite the rain falling down, he asks, "What would you like to drink?"
Coin chuckles at the Brown's antics, sifting through the crowd for his own dancing partner. However, no dragon assists him, and he sidles up to a particularly lovely young woman eyeing the dancing Taima. "Trimaka?" he queries, washing a gaze over her. "My, hasn't it been ages? I don't think I've seen you since.. since the Paradise days, it must be!" he chortles. "Care to dance?"
The soft pitter patter of the rain lightens and a ray of sunlight beams down onto the dance area... the clouds scatter with the wind and pass overhead, bringing the full brightness and warmth of the sun. Only a shower, nothing more.
Colin laughs softly and winks back at Arora, "I'd noticed that, hon..." Surely he did. A quick glance around the crowd and he snatches up her hand, throwing her into a random twirl.
Inside Dunking Booth, Filli sighs softly, "I think they are all scared off." she says with a laugh. As her offer for escape arrives she waits to see what the others will do frist. If they leave she will otherwise she is just fine.
Anhelica follows him quickly, deciding this might have been worth the dragon flight anyway. " Just a white, please." She eyes him a momment more, and then smiles, " I am Anhelica, from High Reaches."
Taima nods to Kurt and slides into the new beat, jumping happily back onto the stage. Ack. She's somewhat rusty, and a foot slips out from under her. "Oof!" She recovers quickly, pausing her dance for just a moment to smile at Kurt and listen to his solo. Verrrrry nice.
P'rru rakes a hand over his damp hair. "Don't move, this brownrider hasn't had a toss yet!" and he picks up a ball in front of the dunking booth, squaring his shoulders.
Trimaka scanned over Taima once last time, but her glance adverted to that of Coin. Coin? Coin! She fixed her posture as if greeted by a royal, But had eyed such a question. " Dance? " A Light shyded reply came from her, " Me? " Her brows arched in highlight before she offered a hand out, " Be a Pleasure to dance with such a fine sir as yourself, Coin. " A smirk crossed her face as she offered a quick, mocked smile, " Oh Coin of Paradise Hold, Grace me with your talented left feet! "
Skylark qwirks an eyebrow at Dsalthness and smiles wryly as she's partially shoved partially making her way towards Gaederon. P'rru is given a sharp glance. He should go find his own dancing partner or she'll have Dsalth find him one as well. Gently, she lays a hand on Gaederon's shoulder. "Care to dance?" she asks with a most polite smile however her blue eyes dancing with mischeif can't say the same.
Leywen smiles, looking up as the clouds scatter, her tunic not even soaked though, thank Faranth. Grinning she takes up position to watch the brownrider take his turn at the dunking booth. "Good luck, P'rru," she encourages.
Arora squeals as she's sent into a spin. "Weee!" comes her girlish giggle, and for a woman of her turns, one would expect a little more.. well.. maturity. Oh, but lighten up. It's a gather, isn't it? And the sun's back to shine, ain't it? So what'cha staring at her for? Grab a partner and hit the floor!
Coin snorts, grabbing her hand and pulling her to him to wrap a strong arm around her waist. "If I grace you with mine, fair lady, then you will surely grace me with yours?" he bites back, gold eyes glittering mischeiviously. He whirls her into the dance, spinning around before the girl has chance to complain. "So, how have you been all these turns?"
P'rru carefully takes aim at the dunking board, then throws
The ball flies toward the target.
P'rru completely misses the target, sending the ball into the net behind.
Catlin looks around at all the people dancing and looks down, thinking.
Khory nods and gets the requested order from the bartender. He himself has one of those .. ah.. Faranth's Flaming thingies. With a funny look at the drink, the messenger then offers his name before taking a sip. "Khory. High Reaches Messenger. I believe we've bumped into each other once before, in the living caverns, but I didn't have the chance to talk, considering that I was running off on work..." That sip is finally taken, and then.. a cough, a gasp and a shudder. "Woah, but this stuff is GOOD!"
Inside Dunking Booth, Jarrom grins to the brownrider, but leaves the taunting to the other dunkees. Thankfully not soaked again, the boy sets to smirking, though the expression doesn't reach his eyes as he again looks to the direction of the ovine shepherds.
Colin catches her in his other arm with a wink. Oddly enough, he really does feel better now... and frighteningly enough, he really /isn't/ much of a dancer, so it must be nothing more than Arora's influence.. must be... has to be. She's lifted back up straight on her feet casually, "Oh.. such a short shower.. shame, that."
Trimaka tossed a hand up into the air with a whallop of a gleefull cheer before she twirled right back into the side of Coin. -- Oh, But Raneal. This was a gathering, She had no need to worry! Her hand gripped his before she had pettied to the right with a light dip given towards Coins right with a light tone, " Absouletly getting better aquinted with Trouble! "
P'rru pouts as his ball flies wide. "The Benden's hitting me faster than I thought!" scarey actually, a rider wihtout any aim whatsoever. But he grins and puts down his glass. "One more try" he murmers, finding another ball, tossing it between his hands. "Ready to get wet?" he taunts the already soaking dregs on in the booth.
Inside Dunking Booth, Filli smirks as the brownrider misses the target completely, "Oh to bad.." she says with a teasing shake of her head that has the added sound effect of tsk tsk tsk.
" --*Repose*--
Catlin looks around and sighs deeply, but smiles at all the couples.
Gaederon says, "Go on sir... Say, you look familiar. Did you happen to bring some folks to the Smith Hall in Ista once or twice?"
Surupa suddenly appears around the dunking booth yet again, her sober expression far from gone as she waggles her way through some people as with glass of wine high up above her. "Filli! Found s'more of 'at winee...." She cries out softly, her voice distorted and eyes squinting as she attempts to make out a few people. "Issat you's in 'at boooth wit that water?" P'rru is given a well pat on the shoulder, her tall form making her way over to the brownrider. "You go and get 'em wet, right?" Rupa hmms softly, eyes blinking though the white rim now a deep red.
The song goes back to its origional beat, and Kurt starts to look a little tired. His arms are moving at a blinding speed, The other instruments give up trying to keep up with him as he plays faster and faster.
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan snorts "Ah, missed it completely... come on, you have an arm... give it a toss man..."
Coin laughs, holding her close. "I see.. and my traverses to Ista tell me you're seeing the young Raneal? A good choice.. not as good as me, though. We never did work things out." He leaves the sentence hanging for her answer, spinning her under his arm before holding her again. "So, how is.. everything else?"
P'rru carefully takes aim at the dunking board, then throws
The ball flies toward the target.
P'rru completely misses the target, sending the ball into the net behind.
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan chokes back a chuckle "Looks like you are going to have to try harder sir... we are drying off up here... and I am in need of a drink when this is done..."
Inside Dunking Booth, Jarrom snorts, shaking out his still wet hair, eyes dancing at the brownrider. Sheep are out of his head, at least for now, seeing as this is a gather. The sky is eyed, however, and weather sets into the boy's ever worrying mind.
Anhelica trys her best not to laugh, or atleast out loud at him. " I thought I might have seen you before." She rolls the liquid around in her mouth a bit, and then rubs the top of the glass with a long finger, equiped with matching long fingernail. "Have you been here long?"
Leywen smiles sympathetically at the brownrider as he misses once again. Sipping her wine, she moves her hips slightly in time with the music, grinning at the bantering P'rru is taking from the beastholder.
Inside Dunking Booth, Filli looks towards Rupa, "You better save me a glass of that or I'll stick you in the booth." she says teasing the herder as the brownrider misses agian she blinks. "What is your eyesight going or something? Oh by the way the target is the over there not in the net."
Catlin begins humming with the tune and watches the dancers.
P'rru hangs his head, ashamed, oh so ashamed he bites at the dunking game. "Oh that's the last ball I'll throw, save at least a little of my dignity!" he hollers up at the people precariously balaned over the water (but undoubtedly safe if Purr is throwing). "Leywen has better aim than I..." and with that brownrider shoots the girl a grin and then scans the crowd for his daughter. Dsalth's rumbles seem to underlay all the crowds and music.
Trimaka slowed her pace towards the comments of, ' We never did work things out..' Before Neal had registered in mind. Her shoulders took back shape as a milky white smile cleared over her lips, " Raneal. He's quite the charmer I tell you. Don't know what in Pern, I'd Do without him. " But she rather had leave the subject at that. With a curve to the righ did she start to pick up beat, Almost oddly though, did she swing, " Everythings fine -- I Was pondering Whether I should learn how to fish. Neal does it, And he's quite good... I Say it's more of a Man thing. Not for me, though..."
Khory nods his head in response. "For a while," comes his reply. "I came in on a brown, and met up with Sasha.. but she seemed to have dissapear after the bubbly contest.." Prolly 'cause the rider ate too much of the pastries. "Then I checked out the wares for sale, have a taste of a bubbly myself, and now.." Here he smiles. "Just bumped into you.." Which, by the look of it, is one of the highlight's of the trip. It's always nice to meet fellow Reach'ians far from home... especially at gathers.
Gaederon smiles "Go on, two more chances sir. You never know... you may get lucky."
Coin ahs softly. "You seem quite taken with this.. Raneal. Good to you, is he?" The man's eyes flicker momentarily, and he gives up. Alas, this woman was never for him - except for this dance. "But let us not talk of Raneal, or others. You're still at Ista, then?"
Skylark wrinkles her lips and makes her way back to the khaki brown dragon. "Next choice, Love," she tells Dsalth with a chuckle, "It doesn't look like that man is leaving his booth." No harm done to Lark's ego. Unlike Dsalth, she keeps her on low at all times... or perhaps just when P'rru isn't around. The young woman scans the crowd, unable to keep herself from moving slightly to the music. "Aren't the Harpers amazing?" murmurs Daughter to Steed as Lark studies the group of Harpers out to perform. "I believe I've met that one Harper at the drums once in Ista, 'Salth. Lively little thing isn't he?" Narrow eyebrow is qwirked and the rest of what's on Lark's mind is kept behind her lips. It's probably just another P'rru burn.
"Aye you want me to throw again?" Purr turns to Gaederon. "I'll throw again if you go and dance with my daughter" and who is about to argue with a brownrider? Well anyone..but Dsalth? No-one except Kinecha would. "Another throw then" and he plucks up a ball. Prepare to stay dry.
Anhelica nods again, playing with the little glass still. Oh, she isn't acting herself. First off with the drink, she usuly doesn't drink in public, it could get her in trouble first off, but that would be the last reason for her not to in the first place. " I came with some dragon." Shows how much she knows. " I still can't get used to that." Charming smile anyways, another drink.
Trimaka nods lightly in response towards His firt question, as she continued onwards. But more so, She had her eyes on another drink. Drinks! " Ista Hold, That is. I Can't part myself from there. Lovely in everyway, And Particulary nice people. Though, I wasswinging to try and get my own room there one of these days. You? "
Arora continues to shake and grind, her grass skirt flowing with each fluid movement, as its rustling keeps up with the beat. She moves away from Colin to dance through the crowd, stopping here and there to bump a fellow Keroonian. After a few minutes, she goes full circle, coming back up to the messenger and grabbing his arm. 'You're too slow," she tells him, grinning.
Leywen tosses a glance at the brown dragon, then back to his rider, "I'm sure you'll dunk 'em this time," she tells him, sliding a bit closer to him, her lips touching the rim of her glass as she drinks slowly from her wine.
Gaederon perks "Eh, dance with your daughter? I'd be delighted rider." he smiles then and says "Sounds like a sound deal to me, but ... would you mind waiting here and taking the marks from customers while I do so?"
Coin shrugs mildly. "Down at Paradise, keeping tabs on Kella and her fosterlings - Have you met Azia? Darling child.. growing far too quickly for her own good. I got a 'Rider to bring me here, and now I'm dancing with you. That seems to be all that's really important." Smooth, Coin, very smooth. He ducks his head somewhat, wrapping his arms around Trimaka's shoulders to keep her close. "Why has it been so long?"
P'rru chuckles "It's a fair swap, lad, a fair trade" and rider throws the ball, satisfied.
P'rru carefully takes aim at the dunking board, then throws
The ball flies toward the target.
P'rru strikes the target full on, dropping Brellan, Jarrom, and Filli into the dunking tank with a large splash.
Surupa waggles her finger towards Filli, her chuckling rising above the crowd. "You find yourself s'more of 'at wine, 'cause I went 'round lookin' for m'own." She heaves a sigh, looking about for another familiar face and yet staying right by P'rru's side. She knows this brownrider, why dare move from here? She fills her glass once again with her wineskin, drowning the burgandy liquid almost completely. "Want'some?" She slurs over to the dragonrider.
Neither can Khory, get used to the dragons, that is... "They're wonderful creatures, aren't they?" he states, sliding smoothly into weyr talk. "Did you hear the results from the flight the other day?" he then queries. "I was off delivering away from the weyr, and missed it all." Lucky he did too, cause he could bet a certain green rider (or maybe a few) were looking for him afterwards..
Aatiora steps in, flipping the everpresent sightblocking strawberry hair aside, letting her blue eyes watch the others.
Calysta eyes the dragonrider and his accomplishment. A murmured . "Not bad for an old man" is made, but not so anyone would hear.
Kurt winds down his song with a pounding finish, punctuating the end of the song with a tremendous *BOOM* of the bass drum, and leans on the rail in front of him panting and grinning. Whew. What a workout!
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan looks quite surprised as the board lets go beneath him sending into the cold water of the tank. He comes up sputtering and coughs out some water laughing all the while. "Well, guess you showed us." he shakes his head, scattering droplets out and resets the board, climbing on top.
P'rru holds his glass out to Surupa "Aye, a reward for my good shot!" he says, puffig slightly. Dsalth bugles in triumph, small that it may be. "Did you see that Leywen, there's still some aim in these old bones yet!"
Anhelica nods, almost finished with her drink. "Yes, very lovely. I was brought up here, so I never saw one until I apprenticed." She thinks a bit, moving some blonde strands behind her small earlobes before answering again. " I really don't know. I've been stuck in Ista the past 7day doing classes."
Inside Dunking Booth, Filli sputters and splashes into the water. As she resurfaces she looks at the brownrider, "It's about time.." she sticks her tounge out and shivers softly. She then eyes Rupa, "Yeah but I'm a journeyman and can make you get it." she says in a teasing tone as she climbs back up.
Trimaka shifted her weight uncomfortably from that of Coin's heavy arms. She pulled away, with light distate in tone as her eyes had caught sight of Aatiora. Tior! " Why has...It been so long? I've taken up so many things Coin, That I get carried away. And people; You wouldn't belive it! "
Jossie huddles to herself as she continues to watch on at the dunk booth before eyes dance around once more, only to come upon an overly familiar face off to the side. Raising a brow, she about turns, taking a few steps in that general direction of the messenger and hostess pair, but reluctantly holds back from saying anything for the moment's time.
Calysta slips past the small crowd at the dunking tank and wanders in search of a drink...
Colin snorts good-naturedly and gives Arora a good chase then, "Well, forgive me if I'm just not in the uproariously great mood that some of these crazy folk have gotten themselves into..." Is he /ever/?
Aatiora glances about. Of the sociable yet lonely sort, she hasn't come across many friends in quite a while. Then, she sees Trimaka. "Trim, dear!"
Inside Dunking Booth, Jarrom's expression warps terribly as the board gives way, his grin dissolving as he quickly remembers to shut his mouth, and his eyes. Standing up after a small splash, the shepherd runs a hand through his wet black hair. "Brellan... I'm gonna get going, its about time for the flock to be brought in, and I should really help that boy I left in charge..." With that, he climbs out, weighed down by his soaked apparel.
"Congratulation," Leywen says, reaching out to pat P'rru shoulder, eyeing the herder, as she empties her glass holding it out for a refill, "mind if I ask for some as well?"
Jarrom has arrived.
Coin nods his understanding, letting Trimaka go. He gives her a shadowy smile and ruffles her hair playfully before setting off towards a small-looking green off to the side. "See you, Trima! Don't be stranger!"
Jarrom goes home.
Aatiora leans over, nearer to Trim. "Who was That?" she asks. "A boyfriend of some sort?"
Calysta finds the drink booth and asks for a white wine. Any is fine, really...
Skylark turns her blue-eyed gaze to Dsalth with a puzzled look. "Dsalth, love, are you feeling alright?" she asks with a impish smile, "Usually by now you'd have me set up with some man." A delicate hand is waved in the air like an irritating bug is -well- bugging her. The Harper Kurt is eyed again. "That looks like fun...We should've had P'rru buy me some of those instead of that feline. And I don't mean the drums, lovely friend." Purchasing Harpers. Now that would make for interesting dinner conversations.
Arora shakes her head, her blond curls finally falling out from their pins that tried valiantly to keep them up. "Colin, you need to relax," she says. Suddenly, the hostess leans in and whispers something to him, a deadly grin appearing on her ruby stained lips. Pulling back after that whisper, she continues to dance, though a steady gaze is kept on the messenger.
"Journeyman, eh?" Surupa mutters, waggling her fingers towards Filli even somemore. "I don' think so. Never he'rd you got promoted." And with a giggle, she fills P'rru's glass with her skin of wine, the liquid eyed greedily before filling hers up once again. "An' I'll get you s'more when you get out of 'at tank, I s'pose." She slurs over towards Filli once again, head shaking slowly as she eyes the water. "Mus' be cold. Freezing, really." Yum, wine.
Trimaka uplifts her hands to try and smooth out her hair from it's tedious ruffled stage as she's a bit taken back at Tior's question, " Boyfriend? Hardly! Raneal plays the part of that. Coins..Someone I met after Neal. A Lost catch. " She had ended that subject rather bluntly with a hand residing upon her friends shoulder, " Drink, Tior?"
Catlin looks at Dsalth and walss over to him.
Calysta takes her glass of wine and wanders yet some more, maybe she will bump into someone she knows, or maybe she will make new friends.
Aatiora nods, brushing her hair from her face yet again. "Why Not? I'm always up for something."
Gaederon smiles "Good shot sir, now, if you would just introduce me to your daughter?" He is a man of his word at least, and a Journeyman to boot. Not a bad catch.
Khory finishes his drink and then wipes a brow. Hot stuff, that Faranth's whatchimikalit. "Well Anhelica," he says, "I wish I didn't have to say this, but alas, I should be returning with my ride.." A thumb is jabbed in the direction of a soon to be departing brown rider and his dragon. Bowing low, the messenger politely takes the girls hand and alights a kiss upon it. "T'was a pleasure.." And then, with another short bow, he's off, back to the Weyr.
Kurt certainly is /not/ for sale. Though maybe if you're reeeeeealy nice you can rent him. He stuffs his sticks back into his boot and lets out a "WOO!". Stepping down from the stage, he decides to take a break. "There are instruments for sale in the harper booth if anyone is interested. And Instrument and voice lessons are always available!" gotta put in the mandatory plug.
Dsalth still huddles round Skylark, rumbling. Catlin is regarded another snot and Dsalth turns his head away. Teach her to be afraid of him. Snhn.
Inside Dunking Booth, Freezing is right, "I'm going to freeze my ears off if I don't get out of here." she tells Brellan and starts to climb out of the booth.
Filli has arrived.
P'rru washes his hands together "Right this way, lad..." of course the rider has forgotten his name. But he leads the way, weaving round bodies towards his dragon and his daughter. "Skylark!"
Trimaka handles a cup from the Refreshmant stand over to Aatiora as a wink was added along with it, " By the egg, I swear it's the best in all of Pern. Flamming..Something. Can't remember the name after 2 of them! " As well after handing Tior her own, Did Maka fetch another, " So What have you been up to lately, Tio?"
Catlin pats dsalth "Awww, come on."
Colin blinks a bit but puts on his best lil' grin and just does his best to keep up with the hostess, who seems to be determined to make him enjoy himself. She just keeps gettin' better and better at it, too... "I'll keep that in mind... certainly will.." And he doesn't say what he doesn't mean.
Filli grabs a large towel and wraps it around herself. She strides over to Rupa, "See this knot." she ask pointing to the journeyman's knot on her shoulder. "You can't go out and buy one of these." she tells the herder with a snort.
Anhelica sighs a moment, well, that was quite odd. She finishes her drink quickly, and then stands, making her way back to where the dancing is.
Leywen hmms, as she once again is abandoned by the brownrider, so since the herder was not dishing out to everyone of her wine, Ley moves to the refreshment stand, getting another glass of good Benden red, before turning back to the crowd, watching the dancers and those just standing around, before her eyes falls to rest on the brown dragon.
Anhelica sighs, she should be heading back as well, before all the dragons are gone.
With the end of the music comes the end of Arora's shaking and rumbling. "That was wonderful!" she exclaims to Colin, as well as everyone else around her. With a wicked smile, and a generous spirit, the high strung and excitable hostess exclaims, "Free Faranth's Fires for the Harpers!" Well, for those who are able to drink'em, that is. Back to Col, she smiles and reaches out for his arm. "Are you enjoying yourself though? Truly?" she asks.
P'rru falls asleep.
Surupa eyes the knot carefully, moving her index finger by it as if to prodd it. "It could be 'is wine, yknow. Too much o' 'is wine is baaad..." She frowns, looking towards Filli with a crooked expression. "'Right, Journey-man, what now? Want s'more of me wine 'ere? I got a few more drips left 'ere..." She brings her frown up into an innocent littel smile, lips curving upwards and amber eyes glinting a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. "I saw s'more over 'omewhere... 'ere." She points to a random location.
Kurt needs to cool off, and looks up at Brellan. "Hey there. Mind a dunking partner?" the spiky haired harper asks with a crooked smirk.
Gaederon follows P'rru over to Skylark "Journeyman Metalsmith Gaederon. I am wondering if you would care to dance? P'rru here has garnered my services for a moment, and requested that I make the offer." though ... he somehow seems quite willing.
Filli looks at the well sloshed Rupa, "Yeah to much wine is bad and you appear to have had to much." she says with a slight smirk. "I'm going to get myself some wine, back in a moment." With that she heads to find the wine.
Catlin sighs looking around and pats dsalth.
Colin mm's softly and shrugs, glancing at his arm but allowing it, for now. "Truly? I probably wouldn't know it if I was.." Though his wink betrays him, so he figure on just coming clean, "Yeah alright, sure. But don't go tellin' people.. it'd ruin my reputation..." Right.
Kurt enters Dunking Booth.
Catlin yawns, getting bored.
Esther returns again, what was she doing? None other than work, if that is any suprise. Pulling her hair back from her face her bright eyes dart around. She lives here, there has got to be someone she knows, /somewhere/!
Lark settles herself neatly on Dsalth's tail which she saw fit to be used as a chair. Somehow she expects herself and actually enjoys the idea of being like her father once was before Amalia had come into the picture: on her own. Mind you Skylark'll always have Dsalth even though he makes a most horrible companion as far as male-female relations go but he's all she needs so nyah. Gaederon is given a long glance and a curious lift of a tender brow. She laughs lightly. "Perhaps you might trade in that dance for a conversation --that is after I go take my turn dunking someone," she smirks, "Care to join me at that?"
Arora takes her hand away from Col's arm, but continues to smile. Beam, in fact. "Oh, I won't," she whispers conspiratively. Her steps then lead her back to the refreshment stand, and a Fire is procurred for both her and the messenger. "Here ya go," the woman states, handing a glass over to him. "To celebrate .. ah.. not having a good time." Grin.
Gaederon smiles "Of course... I don't mind at all miss." He waits for her to stand "Though I think P'rru would have liked you to dance, if it is not to your taste, conversation is quite alright with me."
Inside Dunking Booth, Brellan smiles "Ah, another victim... hop up here sir, I am sure someone will come by shortly to send us into the tank..."
Colin grins back at her and taps his glass against hers, "To not having a lovely one, indeed.." Drink he does.. and he really ought to learn to see what's /in/ the glass first... it /almost/ caught him by surprise this time, but he's gotten just a weebit used to it by now.
Inside Dunking Booth, Kurt grins. "You think so? I don't think any of them has the aim for it." he chuckles.
Surupa stumbles away from the dunking booth, having drowned her last mug. Sluggishly, she picks herself up and attempts to walk away from the Gather, looking for that one rider that promised her a ride back to Gar. Now where could he be? She grumbles under her breath and continues, slowly rocking from one side to the other before tossing down her glass to the sand and keeping a well pace.
Esther decides to once again make her way to the dunking booth, that is where all the movement is. After finding a nice spot where she can watch without getting wet, she lands right beside Gaederon, though she doesn't notice it, she just watches the next player.
Gaederon chuckles at Skylark's intentions, "So, you are going to try your hand at the dunking booth, eh? Well, come on then, don't want to keep that beastholder waiting... He really needs a bath you know. Should have smelled him this morning..."
Skylark rolls her eyes with amusment as she rises from her dragonseat and moves casually over to the dunking booth. "If it was his choice he'd choose every one of my dance partners I'm sure," she comments with a soft chuckle, "I think he sees it as his responcibility as P'rru-dad." The dunkee's are all eyed and given an innocent smile yet it's hardly that at all. Let's hope she has better aim than P'rru.
Filli walks back with a glass of wine only to find Rupa has dissappeared. She keeps the towel wrapped around her and looks around. Where to go frist.
Catlin begins tapping her feet to the music.
Leywen has had enough Benden red for now, and since she was all alone now, with no one to speak with, and no one to dance with, she gives it all up, and makes her way away from the beach.
You go to the Docks.
