Up Up and Away

Idoru notices Spray looking at her.

Spray
Blue and silvery white are the two main colors of this small firelizard's soft, supple hide. Each shade is as pure as it can be, with little variation except where they meet. The silver forms a cap over his headknobs, forehead and the very top of his neck, though his fully rounded muzzle is a contrasting pure blue. Strong wings are translucent, also blue, but a band of thickly opaque white edges the fabric allowing for flight. The bottom portion of the rotund body is also silver white: muscular hindlimbs and the serpentine tail each with only a hint of the blue over the rest of his body.
A delicate band of red and silver encircles his left hind leg, indicating that his humanpet is affiliated with the StarCraft.
Spray is 2 Turns, 2 months, and 17 days old.
Spray is awake and seems alert.

Spray winks in from between with a bit of a shudder, backwinging in the force of the wind that catches his wingsails, tail curling under him to help keep his balance. With a plaintive chirrup he spirals down to perch on the first wagon he comes to, silvery-blue wings fanning outward and curling around to shield his slight form from the chilly wind.

Sitting on top of her humanpet's wagon, Idoru creels as a male firelizard drops out from between. Challenging him to catch her as she rises into the strengthening wind, her wings beating hard to gain momentum as she starts out in a headwind.

Idoru leaps up into the air!

Sky Over Keroon Hold
Below you at the southern edge of the great plateau is Keroon Hold. Along the south, both east and west, beaches separate the land from the very large Nerat Bay to the east and Keroon Bay to the west. The land rolls off to the north, becoming slowly more and more mountainous.

From the sky above, Idoru leaps up from the ground and begins to fly!

Spray leaps up into the air!

From the sky above, Spray leaps up from the ground and begins to fly!

From the sky above, Idoru flies east.

From the sky above, Spray flies east.

Spray vaults into the air after Idoru, tossed and battered until he manages to finally rise above the worst of the ground winds. Higher he climbs, drawn to Idoru as never before, finding strength in her challenge, and in the desire that threatens to consume him.

Idoru creels, feeling more than seeing the lizard following her. Taking up her challenge. Letting herself being buffeted by the wind and random thermals, she uses her wings only to control the motions and avoiding a rapid fall to the ground. But no, he wasn't going to catch her /that/ easily.

A particularly forceful blow catches Spray unaware, nearly flipping his lithe body, but he manages to go with it, turning on a wingtip and riding the crest of the wind, keeping the glowing pinky-green in sight. With a strong downbeat of his silvery wings, he regains his course, a warbling croon accompanying his efforts - probably unheard, but there nonetheless. A call. A plea. Don't leave me behind. I can make you happy. Idoru pivots on a wingtip, darting into an oncoming blow of wind mixed with rain, pivots again to let herself be blown along with the gust, quickly checking behind her to make sure the blue is no /too/ far behind her. He /was/ supposed to catch her after all. Eventually.

Hope soars inside the little blue as he spies Idoru's backward glance. Redoubling his efforts, Spray abruptly changes his tactics, relying on his agility and speed rather than trying to muscle his way into her heart and into her wings. Folding his wings, he drops, unfurling them to catch a thermal that sends him soaring high above Idoru, whirling eyes seeking an opportunity to edge closer.

Caught by a rising thermal, Idoru is almost brought into Spray's claws, managing to avoid them at the last moment by backwinging and dart to the left, all at the same time. And smoothly too, despite the roaring winds. Not. Just. Yet.

Spray overshoots his mark as Idoru slips from his grasp, tumbling head over wing over tail to reverse his direction. Having lost his momentum, he drops, stretching one gossamer wing to catch a wayward wind which lifts him, spiraling upward, ever closer..

Well now. He caught himself a wind, which just happened to be the same as Idoru's. Seeing the blue come close, she breaks free of that wind, starting a downward spiral, rather than Spray'd upward, warbling at him as she passes him in midair. Catch me if you can!

Spray chirrups in surprise as Idoru eludes him again, tucking his wings to drop in a heartstopping dive, letting gravity do the work for him, heading 'Doru-wards in a crazy freefall, reeaching...

Idoru screeches as she feels talons so very near her hide, trying to avoid getting caught, though she knows that it is time. Time. Time. Bouncing on the winds, she allows herself to get caught, twisting her neck around the blue's as the speed toward the ground..

Crooning triumphantly, Spray unfurls his wings completely just in time to break their downward fall, his neck coiled with hers... sweet victory... sweet release.

Idoru breaks any and all contact with Spray as they come almost too close to the ground, creeling mightily at him as she speeds away from him, skimming the grassy ground, slick with falling rain. There! The deed is done, and there's no more use for the male now.

Spray backwings as Idoru speeds away, smugly pivoting in midair and blinking between.

Spray suddenly disappears ::between::!

Idoru suddenly disappears ::between::!

:::BETWEEN!:::
You hang, senseless, in the dark nothingness of ::between::... absolute darkness surrounds you, and the profound cold stings you... you wait, and count...
Black...
Blacker...
Blackest...

Idoru blinks in from ::between::!
